Reena Mehta, OD

Description

Reena Mehta, OD, was brought up in the Midwest. Dr. Mehta has an engineering background from the University of Michigan and a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from Michigan College of Optometry in Big Rapids, Michigan, graduating in 2002. Dr. Mehta went on to pursue an ocular disease residency at The Eye Center of Toledo (now Specialty Eye Institute) through The Ohio State University. After completing her residency, Dr. Mehta moved to North Carolina where she worked at Durham Veterans Hospital (Durham VAMC), affiliated with Duke University, for about 14 years. Her dedication and experience allowed her to participate in many administrative and academic roles, along with receiving awards such as “Heroes Helping Heroes.” She relocated to South Carolina in 2017 and started working at a private ophthalmology practice as well as the Augusta VAMC. Dr. Mehta joined Prisma Health Department of Ophthalmology full time in January 2020. When not working, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading and cooking/baking.
