David Brian Fulton, MD

Dr. Fulton is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon. He has been practicing in South Carolina since finishing his training in 1999. He specializes in treating disorders of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. He is currently an active member or the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He has a certificate of added qualification in surgery of the hand. His educational background includes graduating with honors from The University of Toledo in 1989 and graduating as a valedictorian of his medical school class from The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1993. Dr. Fulton then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Indiana University Medical Center in 1998. He completed an esteemed fellowship in surgery of the hand and upper extremity at The University of Cincinnati in 1999 under Dr. Peter Stern. Dr. Fulton’s clinical expertise includes common and complex surgeries of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. He frequently performs total/reverse shoulder replacements, arthroscopic shoulder surgery (including rotator cuff repair), wrist surgery and fracture repair surgery. He also has great experience in nerve, tendon and arthritis surgeries. In Dr. Fulton’s practice, patients are given the option of having some procedures (such as carpal tunnel release and trigger finger release) under local anesthesia if they desire. When not at work Dr. Fulton enjoys spending time with his family, exercising and being outdoors. His hobbies include running, cycling and playing pickle ball.
